Hi, my name is John and at Equitably Human we are really passionate about positive organizational dynamics. My journey has been on a leadership trajectory since my late teens. While very shy at school, I blossomed in my first workplace setting. I had an amazing group of leaders to look up to and it’s truly where I found my calling in life. At 17 I was given my first leadership opportunity — I jumped at the chance to become a designated trainer for my department — wanting to pass the expertise I’d gained along to the new team members. I’ve been given amazing opportunities to learn and have garnered decades of hands-on knowledge of what works and what I could learn from.
Over the years whether at fancy hotels, start-up breweries or an Ottawa retail institution — I’ve always been proud of the products we offered — but more so of the teams we built and the relationships that I cherish. While many of the methods of building effective teams were embedded in me early on — it became clear to me at the end of the pandemic that there are a lot of businesses that want to do better — but have no idea where to start. I returned to college to codify my knowledge and expand into advanced analytics — working it all into a framework by which I could strategically engage companies on a business-to-business level. Giving small and medium businesses the opportunity to learn to build the most effective teams and workplaces possible.
The result is Equitably Human which I founded on the idea of “creating value by valuing people”. It’s where I have decided to keep my life’s work going by helping a wider group of people and businesses in Southwestern Ontario become the best version of themselves.

In the coming months we will also be launching an online learning and coaching stream with full courses for all 20+ steps of the framework. While we would prefer to consult in person with every business, we truly believe that access to this applied knowledge will make a world of difference for any business — and we want any business that aspires to be the best version of itself to have a chance to do so. Alumni of our in-person engagements will have ongoing access to these materials for whenever they need a refresher on concepts as well.
